Blessing Others at Christmastime

Posted by: Pastor Jeff Hackett

Every year, as a church, we support those who are needy during this holiday season with everything that a family needs for a Christmas dinner, and even toys for children in those families.

We delivered the baskets to the families on Saturday, December 10. Here's what our Christmas Basket coordinator, Michael Nelson, had to say about our efforts this year:

“This year our APC family really hit a home run! We seemed overrun with volunteers! People eager to reach their community and make a difference to those needing a bit of a hand up this season. Over 200 volunteers helped wrap toys, pick up food, box items and help deliver the baskets (along with the toys and a turkey for each family), as well as the generous giving of our church family for this endeavour. Just over 1,300 people were touched by this expression of love, with exactly 350 children receiving a brand new wrapped toy. THANK YOU to all who gave with their time and resources towards this outreach to our community. Truly this could not have happened without you! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!”

Again, thanks to everyone who volunteered and gave their time to reaching out to our community and as well to those who helped raise the $28,000 that it requires to fund a beautiful expression and celebration of God's generosity to us at Christmastime.

Holiday Services

Posted by: Pastor Keith Smith

Christmas Eve is on a Saturday evening this year, which means Christmas Day is on a Sunday.

We’re recommending to our APC Church family to attend one or the other – the Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 6 pm on December 24 or Christmas Day Service at 10:30 am (note, one service only). Pastor Mulligan will be sharing the same Christmas message at both services, and we’ll be singing a lot of the same songs, so attend whichever one works best for you and for those with whom you are celebrating Christmas.

What about New Year’s? There will be a New Year’s Eve Celebration Service on December 31 at 10:30 pm with great music, fun, and meaningful preparations for 2012 (there will be no 6 pm Saturday Night Gathering service, so SNG attenders can join the New Year’s Eve celebration). The next morning there will be one service at 10:30 am, with a different message time where we will look to the God Book for the year ahead.

Looking forward to this beautiful holiday season!
